Love, Simon (2018) perfectly displays the difference between a manipulative public proposal and a sweet grand romantic gesture in the best way possible. Martin, when trying to ask a girl out, publicly humiliates her by pressuring her to say yes to him in front of a huge crowd of people and putting her in the spotlight, making her visibly uncomfortable. When Simon makes the gesture to Blue, it gives “Blue” the opportunity to back out and not show his face, therefore making Simon the only subject of ridicule if the situation goes wrong, showing his dedication and his love for Blue in that he is willing to undergo EVEN MORE humiliation to find him. This, among other parts of the movie, clearly outlines the fact that homosexual people have perfected romance to a degree that straight people have not found. In this essay I will -
op where’s the rest of it
the straights kidnapped him because he was onto their secrets
I’m still here bitch the straights can’t silence me
i’m just sitting here dying of laughter thinking about McGonagall looking over Harry in first year like yeah the kid gets into some dangerous shenanigans but it always seems to be for a greater purpose and his heart’s in the right place and he’s so sweet and quiet usually, clearly he takes after his mother Lily thank goodness this is good this boy is good
and then dead ass one year later kid shows up to school crashing into a tree with his bestie in a flying car instead of just owling the damn school that they’d missed the train and she’s just like DING DONG I WAS WRONG
First Year: “I hope he’s like Lily”
Second Year: “Sweet fuck he’s James.”
No but really each year the “sweet fuck he’s James” intensifies
you ever notice a lot of stuff is considered poor and gross unless its upper middle class (white) people doing it
food trucks in the 90s were the realm of taco trucks and fairground food and were always considered unhygienic and nasty until all these rich city kids started opening food trucks and now they’re “trendy” and “innovative”
riding your bike to work is only considered geofriendly if you can also afford to drive a car but don’t want to, then you’re saving the earth, everyone else isn’t somehow??
recycling old cheap stuff to be used as furniture and wearing really old clothing is a sign of poverty unless you’re doing it a certain way or wearing a certain kind of old clothing
double standards are gross and you should expose them in your life as much as possible
men who drive fucking gigantic shiny pickups that they obviously just have as ego-boosters who fucking tailgate you on an empty stretch of freeway at night and they’ve replaced their headlights with fucking military-grade 500 proton scatter billion lumen searchlights that they fucking utterly blind you with while honking for you to get out of your lane because they just desperately have to go a full 40 miles over the speed limit or their dick will just jump clean off their balls and hurl itself out their window in shame
I think we should all celebrate by taking a moment to appreciate Robert Pattinson’s attitude and I’m laughing so much right now.
JUST ALL THAT HE IS.
